Their Achilles heel is project management and adhering to the process. All in all, we’ve found a company that we want to maintain as a long-term relationship. Moreover, they take feedback well and actively act on it. They put their creativity to the table, but in a way that makes us feel worthy of consideration. We know what we want most of the time, and they’ve managed to find the balance between suggesting alternatives and managing our expectations. However, Browser London has embraced that we’re a difficult client. We often work at a fast pace, which sometimes shocks the suppliers we work with. We’re a challenging organization that does things differently and doesn’t believe in red tape or bureaucracy. What did you find most impressive about them? They do a chart to show in which part of the cycle they are. We use Slack as a communication tool and do all our project management through Google Docs. ![]() We manage the timescales with the project manager on our side, which has helped them to manage their time more effectively. We’ve got around that by setting up a daily stand-up as part of the process. They’re good at setting the project plan in the beginning, but they’re not as proactive at things like review meetings, which are essential. How did Browser London perform from a project management standpoint? Overall, we have high standards, so they’ve raised the bar to ensure that what they deliver fits the quality we expect. We change our path when things don’t work effectively, but their flexibility is one of the reasons we work with them - they’re very responsive to feedback. In the beginning, we were clear with the brief, budget, timescales, and our way of working. However, the quality of their work is excellent. We don’t formally measure quality we manage that on a daily basis. What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement? We’re about to start another project with them. We started working with them in February 2021, and our relationship is ongoing. We were looking for a fit in terms of capacity and culture for the organization. Initially, we put out a tender, and they came back with 2–3 other UX providers to do a presentation. How did you come to work with Browser London? Also, we’ve used some UX designers and Julian (NXD Browser Group) for some of the data analysis work. Rob (Head of Product) runs the team underneath René and makes sure everybody is on the daily stand-ups and working as part of the team. We work with René (Managing Director) he’s our key point of contact. They use Figma to create and share their work. Once the product is developed, they check that the developers have built the approved design. The team takes the brand and product identity to do all the screen implementation of the design for each user flow. They’ve been key partners in designing those systems and putting them into development. Also, they’ve supported us with a bespoke online learning tool and a brand new system for our SEO program. They helped us to move from business measures to a strength reporting system. Initially, we had an internal performance management system that required a shift in direction. Browser London has done several projects for us.
